Why Good Grades Matter As A Nigerian Undergraduate

Good grades, the major reason why students attend classes and study like it’s a means of avoiding another world war is something like a must-have for Nigerian undergraduates, backed up by the following reasons on Why Good Grades Matter As A Nigerian Undergraduate :

  • Low GPA decreases your chances of EASILY securing a job
  • : This is one of the reaons Why Nigerian Graduates Are Unemployble, being able to tender a certificate with good grade is a ‘jara‘ to your ‘suya‘, you tend to get noticed easily out of the thousands that might be considerable but otherwise it’s something like an on-sight first depression for your potential employers. They are bound to conclude probable falsely that such graduate is the unserious type and won’t be able to add positively to the progress of the company.
    Conclusively, your good grades is what remains and what will speak for you after you have forgotten whatsoever Mathematics you were thought in school even though it doesn’t correlate with the usage of the certificate.

  • Whatever is worth doing is worth doing well
  • : Do not be like a snake that progresses on a rock without impact. The fact that you are in school already commands that you get serious and come out with something justifiable. If you are not the type that should be in school, let it be known. Once you are in school and there’s no possible alternative, make an impact.

  • To make your parents happy
  • : Why will a Student not try to get good grades in school when he/she knows it will make his/her parents happy? Why not get motivated in the negative sense if your parents will get angry if you don’t get good grades?

    SHORT STORY – Mr Ibu never finished secondary school and never had a very good job. When his son Ashiru started school, Mr Ibu really wanted Ashiru to do well. He wanted a bright educated future for his son. So, when Ashiru got good grades, Mr Ibu smiled and was proud of his son’s achievements. Ashiru knew it made his old man happy.

    The influence of your parents is a motivation for you to excel in school, no parent will be proud of failure, make them happy.

  • Bad grades might affect your self esteem
  • : If you are the type that really cares, you might start feeling inferior when chilling among scholars and they start discussing their grades. Inability to contribute coupled with the inability to laugh with them as your grades keep flashing in your head might affect your self esteem negatively.

Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time. Do not give up on that flattened GPA, pick up the baton an set up the pace. If you don’t go after what you want, you’ll never have it. If you don’t ask, the answer is always no. If you don’t step forward, you’re always in the same place.

Don’t say you don’t have enough time. You have exactly the same number of hours per day that were given to Helen Keller, Michaelangelo, Mother Teresa, Leonardo da Vinci, Thomas Jefferson, and Albert Einstein.
