Many people in this world wants to make a difference. However, most people do
not want to put in all the effort that it takes to do so. But like Abraham Lincoln
used to quote “The best way to predict the future is to create it”.
A Job is a task or an economic role for which a person is paid, much
specifically a Job is an activity often regular and performed in exchange for
payment.
Many people have multiple jobs Eg. Parent, homemaker and employee. The thing
is a person can get a job by becoming an employee volunteering, starting a
business or becoming a parent. The duration of a job may range from
temporary, odd jobs to a lifetime job.
Jobs can be categorized into temporary, seasonal, odd jobs, self employment or
contract employment. It can also be categorized as paid and unpaid, some examples

A Career is one’s calling in life or a person’s occupation as defined by
wiktionary. It can also be said to be an individual’s metaphorical journey through
learning, work and other aspects of life. The word career is also defined by the
Oxford English Dictionary as a person’s “course or progress through life”. In this
definition, career is understood to a range of aspects of an individual’s life, learning
and work. Career is also frequently understood to relate to the working aspects of
an individual life. A third way in which the term “career” is used to describe an
occupation or profession that usually involves special training or formal education
and is considered to be a person’s lifework. In this case, “a career” is seen as a
sequence of related jobs usually pursued within a single industry or sector. For
example; “a career in education” and “a career in the building trade”.
Before you can choose the right career, you must learn about yourself. Your
values, interests, soft skills and aptitudes, in combination with your personality type,
make some occupations a good fit for you and inappropriate for others. Some
people choose to work with a career counselor or other career development
professionals who can help them navigate this process.
The following are problems associated with job and career such as;
Unemployment which is a significant global problem. A person can be referred to
as unemployed when he or she is willing and able to work but is currently
jobless. Such people are usually actively seeking job opportunities. In simpler
terms, unemployment is the state of not having a job. A country is said to have a
high rate of unemployment when many of its citizens do not have jobs. When a
lot of people are without work in a nation, levels of poverty are also high due to
lack of income sources. In a similar way, underemployment is
the situation in which people in a workforce are employed at less than full time.
It can also be taken to mean a condition in which individuals are working at jobs
that are inadequate when matched against their economic needs or training.
Underpayment is when people are not properly compensated in accordance with
the risk or amount of work done. It is an approach taken by some employers to
increase their profit margins at the of employee welfare. It is important for the
state to intervene and reduce cases of unemployment because of its cyclical nature.
It can result in many social problems in a country and stall economic growth.

underpayment in an economy. These are some of the more common causes: Lack
of skilled and technical training,Lack of education,Underpayment, large population,
lack of job opportunities and so much more.
There are many problems that arise as a result of unemployment,
underemployment and underpayments. Suitable examples are Economic stress, mental
stress, depression, societal unrest, inability to repay loans.
The ways in which the issues of unemployment, underemployment and
underpayment can be tackled are through proper education, skilled Based Training,
creation of job opportunities, youth empowerment and many others.
In conclusion, our government should try their possible best to reduce the issue
of unemployment, underpayment and underemployment. We should also endeavor as
great individuals and citizen of this great country to get our head out of the sack
and help ourselves as well. Having a good life is not the preserve of a few
people.Everyone should aspire to live well and make the most out of life.
However, nearly all of these desires are dependent on having a stable source of
income and “The only way to do great work is to love what you do”.
